Lebanon Senior Center Presents Silver Follies
The Lebanon Senior Center hopes to revive the long-ago stage show with a modern-day version of local senior talent.
Rebecca Wirfs, Senior Center Activities Planner, and a group of volunteers are recruiting members of the community, 50 years and older, with abilities they would like to showcase for an audience, here at the Senior Center.
“We hope to draw responses to participate from the community at large,” Wirfs says. “This will be an opportunity to share oneart or craft piece, such as quilting or painting, or your ability to sing, dance or play a musical instrument in a presentation of about three to five minutes.”
The volunteer committee has made a list of suggestions of the types of abilities that might be offered:
1) performance based skills which could include short skits, impressions, recitations, a kitchen band, or old-time music offerings such as harmonica, mouth organ, kazoo or spoons; or
2) non-performance exhibits such as a quilt or knit work, wood work, fancy decorated cake, art or craft piece.
