Come join us to walk the existing and proposed trail section of the Burkhart Creek Trail. Meet at the Lebanon Fire District (Station 31) on the corner of Oak and S 12th at 10:00am on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The Burkhart Creek Trail is an intricate part of the growing Lebanon trail system. The goal for this trail project is to construct a safe, accessible, multi-use trail along Burkhart Creek that will connect Lebanon from southeast to northwest. The proposed trail will start at The Bob Smith Memorial Park on South Main Street and end at the north City Limits near Economy Building Supply on Tangent Street/Hwy 34. When completed the trail will provide a connection to the existing 12 foot wide trail along Hansard Avenue leading to the Reeves Parkway Trail, along the Dr Thad Nelson Trail, and on to the Mark's Slough Trail system beside the South Santiam River on the east side of Lebanon. *Notes: Dress appropriately for the weather and appropriate shoes for the terrain. *Dogs on leash and well mannered are welcome. Directions We will meet at the Oak Street Lebanon Fire District (Station 31). The gravel parking area can be reached by turning west onto Oak Street at the intersection of Oak and Main. Proceed west on Oak until you reach S. 12th Street. Turn onto S. 12th Street and BLT signs will direct you to the parking area.
