BLT Walk/Hike
We are sorry to announce that the owners for Peterson’s Butte have cancelled the hike in June 2013 due to fire dangers. We do hope to hike Peterson’s Butte once their fire dangers have subsided.
WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE AND PRESENT A NEW HIKE!
We are temporarily calling this new trail “The Canal Trail Project“. This is a proposed new, multi-use trail route which extends from the medical campus to the Santiam River. This will be an asphalt surface (10ft wide) and will connect to the existing Mark’s Slough Trail. This hike will start at 10am, Saturday, June 15th; meeting at the south parking lot of the Samaritan Lebanon Hospital. It is a 3.25 mile hike. There is a shorter loop available that is approximately 2.25 miles.
With your support, we anticipate completing this project within the next 12-18 months. This trail will be constructed without the use of any tax dollars. Once complete and combined with the existing trails on the medical campus and along Hansard Avenue; this trail will serve to connect most of the north side of Lebanon with a single hard surfaced trail ideal for biking, walking, jogging, etc.
In addition, we want to thank Rick Franklin, the City of Albany, the City of Lebanon, and the neighbors of The Canal Trail Project, who have made this hike possible for June 15th and are continuing to work with us to enhance our goals of “Connecting our Community”.
This is an exciting project and well worth your time to come and see.
