PLACE: Meet at Cheadle Lake's North Parking Lot on River Drive

DIRECTIONS: from Main Street at the Les Schwab Store turn east on Russell Drive. In one mile turn right into the parking lot. Look for BLT event signs.

 

STAGE 1: Cheadle Lake to Riverview Park and back (1.5 miles approx. round trip)

STAGE 2: Cheadle Lake through Riverview Park to Gill's Landing Park and back (4 miles approx. round trip)
 

Starting at Cheadle Lake's North Parking Lot, cross River Drive and follow Mountain River Drive toward Riverview Elementary School. Riverview Park is an undeveloped green space and future city park on the banks of the South Santiam River. STAGE 1 hikers head back to Cheadle Lake at this point. STAGE 2 hikers continue downstream (north) along a very scenic stretch of the Santiam River on top of a protective flood dike that takes you through remote forested areas you may never have experienced before. Gill's Landing Park at Grant Street bridge is the turn-around point.
