Canadian born and raised, Michelle Wehner moved to the US in 2005. Her passion is in helping those in need and equipping the general public with the skills to survive until professional help arrives. In this presentation, she will share some of her knowledge to help our communities be disaster ready before it strikes. In hazardous situations, being prepared can be the difference between life and death. Through her experiences, training and certifications, she brings a collection of knowledge and a unique perspective on ways we can strengthen our survival outcome as individuals, and as a community. Her experiences include Search and Rescue, Ski Patrol, Wildland Firefighting, a Medic with British Columbia Ambulance Service, Wilderness Survival and certification as a Community Emergency Response Team member. Having spent weeks at a time and traveled hundreds of miles in the back-country, she will open up her survival backpack for “show and tell”. You won’t want to miss this informative and fun afternoon!
