Speaker: Paul Barnum Oregon Forest Resource Inst.
Paul is the executive director of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute, based in Portland. The Legislature created OFRI in 1991 to improve public understanding of forest management, and to encourage sound forestry through landowner training. Paul has an extensive background in communications and public affairs in both the public and private sectors, having worked in higher education and for a Eugene public relations firm. For 15 years, he was with Weyerhaeuser as a director of communications. Prior to coming to OFRI in August 2008, he was with Russell Investments, an international financial services company based in Seattle. Paul is a graduate of the University of Oregon and holds a master’s degree in journalism. A member of Portland City Club, he is a past president of SOLV and a former chair of OFRI.
