Introduction to Meditation and Yoga
An introduction to the practices of yoga and meditation for absolute beginners. The practices we will learn have been used by millions of people over thousands of years to help individuals obtain peace of mind, gain new insights, improve physical health. This introduction will provide you will basic techniques of Vipassana meditation and Hatha yoga (school of Sivananda) to help you get your practice started. The event is free of charge. Donations are welcome to help cover reservation fees and support creating and improving future events. The schedule will roughly follow Introductions - 10 minutes Meditation Introducing meditation practice - 5 minutes Practice meditation -15 minute Yoga Introduce the practice of yoga - 5 minutes Practice yogic breathing techniques - 20 minutes Practice yogic postures - 30 minutes Closing - 10 minutes (Total ~1.5 hrs)
