Benton Hospice Service new volunteer training. Two full days of training for volunteers who will provide direct services to patients and families.
8:30 am to 4:30 pm on June 16 and June 18. Register by May 29.
Those who will help with indirect services: 8:30 to noon on June 16
Benton Hospcie Service is looking for volunteers to enrich the lives of patients and families in the Lebanon area. Hospice serves people wherever they live, including Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing facilities, as well as Adult Foster Homes, apartments and individual homes.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers bring a variety of skills and interests to Benton Hospice. They do what is most satisfying for them. Some of the assignments might include:
· Social visits or running errands
· Reading aloud or playing music
· Providing respite so the caregiver can take a break
· Making phone calls
· Helping with outreach in the community
· Writing stories or life histories
· Sharing a professional skill
· Simply sitting with someone so they are not alone
Benton Hospice Service has provided care to terminally ill patients and their families in Linn and Benton counties since 1980 as an independent, nonprofit healthcare organization.
