Job Description: Lebanon Soup Kitchen Leader, Cook and Program Manager

Reports to: LSK Board of Directors
Overall: Leads and directs the Food, Fellowship, and personal goods ministry of LSK. This ministry is currently operated 3 days per week (expectation – 27-32 hours per week.)
Goals and Objectives:
- To manage the resources of LSK to provide nutritious and appetizing meals to all guests who come to the LSK.
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of all volunteers who assist in carrying out all services provided by the LSK. Works with the volunteer coordinator to ensure there are trained volunteers to carry out the ministry.
- Work with Board Members to organize and carry out special projects and events to raise funds as needed to maintain sustainable support of LSK and its mission.
- LSK expects the leader to maintain high standards of behavior, setting the tone for volunteers demonstrating an attitude of understanding, caring, friendliness, and being helpful to all guests and other volunteers.
- Act as ambassador for LSK in the Lebanon Community.
- Provide leadership and oversight of all meals that are prepared and served. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ensure that volunteers are qualified and have proper training prior to serving guests. Ensure that all health codes and reporting is maintained.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the many food and service donors who provide physical resources and services, i.e. vegetables, surplus foods, fruits, and items that are part of the personal care ministry.
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the LSK facility to see that all rules and regulations are met. FCC maintenance is the responsibility of FCC and all maintenance issues of church facilities should be referred to the Pastor and/or appropriate person immediately.
- Work with the Pastor and leadership of First Christian Church to see that LSK maintains a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with FCC.
- Complete and submit monthly reports to Linn-Benton Food Share.
- Work with the Board to organize and carry out fundraising activities as needed.
- Work with LSK communications director to assist in publishing and distributing the LSK communications.
- Be trained or provide for on site volunteers being trained for CPR and First Aid.
- Other duties as needed to fulfill the ministry of LSK.
Education and Experience Required:
- 3 years cooking and kitchen management experience preferred.
Location and Travel:
- Job site is LSK, Lebanon, Oregon. Local travel to pick up supplies and foodstuffs LSK may be required.
Other details:
- Vacation pay of 6 days per year (3/5 of traditional 2 weeks).
- Up to 3 days of paid leave for medical, personal, or mental enrichment activities.
- Cost share of 75% of medical insurance paid – maximum 100.00 per month allowance.
As the manager works independently, he/she will prepare a monthly report for the board covering primary responsibilities, especially those items identified under “specific duties”. Time commitment is expected to be a minimum of 27 hours per week. Hours will be logged and turned into the treasurer by the 15th and the 31st of each month.
Salary Range: Negotiable
