Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care Health Talk - Minimizing Fall Risks
Please join us at the Philomath Public Library for an educational talk to help families learn risk factors and consequences of falling, and what we can do to prevent them. Presented by Elizabeth Bolte, a staff physical therapist for the non-profit Lumina Hospice and Palliative Care agency where she has been serving hospice patients facing end-of-life safety and mobility challenges since 1996. This educational talk will help you take care of yourself, a family member, or a friend and includes: • Risk factors around falling (physical surroundings, health condition, medications) • Consequences of falling • Strategies to avoid falls (home safety, assistive devices, medical advice for health and medications, keep moving) • Backup plan in case of a fall • Question and answer time This event is co-sponsored by Philomath Community Library
