Practical Skills for Family Caregivers Workshop
Training and support for family caregivers
Presented in partnership by
Benton Hospice Service and New Horizons In-Home Care
Providing personal care for someone with dementia can be overwhelming and all-consuming; especially when challenging behaviors are present. In this workshop we’ll discuss some of the triggers that pro-voke challenging behaviors and learn strategies to de-crease how often those behaviors occur.
Upon completion of this workshop, you will:
Understand how to provide optimal personal care to a person with memory impairment.
Have support for addressing falls, getting lost, physical exhaustion, etc.
Be able to respond compassionately and supportively with the person being cared for.
