STAR SPANGLED CELEBRATION July 4th presented by Bender Mechanical
Lebanon’s very own 4th of July Celebration returns to Cheadle Lake Park! The STAR SPANGLED CELEBRATION, a family friendly event, has become a popular destination to celebrate Independence Day.
The fireworks display has been touted as one of the best in the Valley, featuring the WALL OF FIRE – this year DOUBLED in size to 200 feet across!
Families gather together on blankets with coolers and lawn chairs to enjoy the park and good old fashioned family time. Activities include food booths, kids games, coloring contest, a juggler and balloon artist, barbershop quartet and face painting!
Back by popular demand is the shooting booth hosted by distinguished rifleman Nelson Shew. Kids will learn gun safety and then shoot at a paper target, which they get to keep! (Link to information about Mr. Shew: http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/distinguishedStory.cgi?distID=10844)
Then at dark, the FIRE IN THE SKY begins, and continues with traditional appreciation of ooohs and aaaahs from the crowd – until the grand finale – when cheers shake the park for the– WALL OF FIRE!
Admission is free with parking, but a parking fee of $10 per carload is charged with all proceeds going to improvements made at the park. (Walk ins just $3) Lebanon Community Foundation hosts this event each year attracting attendees from Lebanon and surrounding areas.
“It is so great to see neighbors, families, co-workers and friends playing together at the park” said Wayne Reiskamp, chair of the Lebanon Community Foundation. “There may be other options out there this year – but this truly is a community event for everyone.”
You can learn more about the foundation and this event at www.cheadlepark.com. In addition to Star Spangled Celebration, the foundation produces the Cheadle Challenge Adventure Run and the park hosts dozens of events throughout the year. Future plans for the park include an amphitheater, event hall and picnic shelters.
