Nov 27    Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race
The Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race is a premiere running event held annually on Thanksgiving morning. Organized by the Mid-Valley Lions Club and managed by a professional race management company, the chip timed event raises funds to help meet growing medical needs in the Mid-Valley and supports local service organizations' community projects. Mid-Valley Lions donations provide free vision and hearing assistance, health screenings, youth outreach activities, local, national and international disaster relief and international efforts to prevent blindness.

There are three events to choose from: (1) the 5.2 Mile Scenic Challenge Run, (2) the 3.75 Mile ‘To Hill and Back” Run, and (3) a 2.5 Mile Walk. Cash and prizes are awarded. Visit the Oregon Mid Valley Road Race website for current fees and to register online.

The School Challenge is a signature feature of the Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race. A $1,000 prize will be given to each of the local Junior High and High School that recruits the most race participants. The funds are awarded to the PTO or Booster Club at the winning schools and each school receives a 'Lions Spirit Award' trophy to be displayed along with other school awards and trophies for the current school year. All race registrants can support a local school so everyone is encouraged to participate in the Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race School Challenge when registering.

Check pre-registration deadlines, packet pick-up information, day-of-race activities and more at www.omroadrace.org/. And, stay current with race updates, photos and what's new for race day at the Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race Facebook page.
