Lebanon Square Circlers announces this year’s Square Dance Lessons are starting Sunday, September 17th. No partner is required and the first class is FREE! Organizers point out that modern square dance is a great way to get low-impact exercise, stimulate the brain, and just plain have a lot of fun in a family friendly, smoke and alcohol free environment. No previous dance experience is necessary and families are especially welcome! Those folks now enjoying line and contra dancing are also invited to come check out “our brand” of American Folk Dancing as well.

Oct 3    Linn County Sheriff's Citizens Academy

The course is designed to improve citizens? understanding of the workings of the various areas of the Linn County Sheriff?s Office and to gain a deeper understanding of how we are organized and operate. The atmosphere at the Citizens Academy is fun and informative with classes being taught by Sheriff`s Office team members.

Citizens Academy participants are introduced to each division and specialty team within the Linn County Sheriff?s Office including Patrol, Corrections, defense tactics, traffic enforcement, narcotics investigations, Search and Rescue, Communications/Dispatch, Animal Control, work crew, prisoner transport and emergency vehicle operation. In addition, we will also host a Saturday Range Day session where students will learn firearm fundamentals and safety, and have the opportunity to participate in live fire exercises.

Scroggins Mill Rural Heritage is having their annual spaghetti feed
The dinner includes spaghetti (veggie/meat), salad, bread, dessert, and beverage


The event includes a silent auction (Oregon Aquarium passes, Santiam excursion Train passes, craft basket, baking basket, original artwork by local artists, HO scale train set, Art supply baskets, gift certificates, Farm Basket, Brew Basket from local breweries, and much more.  There is a "Buy it Now"  table with lots of nice items....books dvds, antiques, etc.  There will be a 50/50 drawing.

SafeHaven Humane Society will be hosting their annual dinner auction, “The Rescue Roundup,” on Saturday, October 7 at the Albany Boys & Girls Club located at 1215 SE Hill in Albany, OR. This Western-themed event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and features a BBQ dinner, drinks, and a silent and live auction. For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has served the community by providing compassionate temporary shelter care for adoptable animals; information, understanding, and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia. Proceeds from the event will go to the continued success of SafeHaven Humane Society and its mission of “Finding Homes, Opening Hearts, and Educating Minds.” The 2017 Rescue Roundup is presented by Laura Gillott Home Team, Keller-Williams Mid-Willamette Realty. We would also like to thank our other event sponsors: the Swanson Agency, Mike’s Heating & Cooling, Petco, and Xtreme Grafx. In it's 34th year, Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief, is a community fair and auction that raises funds to meet human need through the global and U. S. ministries of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). MCC focuses on disaster relief (like the hurricanes), community development, and justice and peace building. The Lebanon Health Career Ladder will provide opportunities for students to create, explore, and develop college and career goals and objectives.

This is accomplished through a series of free Saturday Academies
which can set you on the path to making your dreams reality. COMP-Northwest clinicians, scientists, medical students, and our community partners engage the whole family in science activities to educate and build skills and confidence for students from Lebanon and surrounding communities in grades 6-10.

All sessions are held at COMP-Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon. Lunch is provided for all attending. Adult accompaniment of students is required as participation from parents, guardians or designated adults is a vital part of the experience.

Oct 14    Build Lebanon Trails - Burkhart Creek Walk
Come join us to walk the existing and proposed trail section of the Burkhart Creek Trail, an intricate part of the growing Lebanon trail system. The goal for this trail project is to construct a safe, accessible, multi-use trail along Burkhart Creek that will connect Lebanon from southeast to northwest. The proposed trail will start at The Bob Smith Memorial Park on South Main Street and end at the north City Limits near Economy Building Supply on Tangent Street/Hwy 34. Oct 31    Linn County Sheriff's Citizens Academy

The course is designed to improve citizens? understanding of the workings of the various areas of the Linn County Sheriff?s Office and to gain a deeper understanding of how we are organized and operate. The atmosphere at the Citizens Academy is fun and informative with classes being taught by Sheriff`s Office team members.

Citizens Academy participants are introduced to each division and specialty team within the Linn County Sheriff?s Office including Patrol, Corrections, defense tactics, traffic enforcement, narcotics investigations, Search and Rescue, Communications/Dispatch, Animal Control, work crew, prisoner transport and emergency vehicle operation. In addition, we will also host a Saturday Range Day session where students will learn firearm fundamentals and safety, and have the opportunity to participate in live fire exercises.

The Oaks’ Halloween Party will be hosting a Haunted House, sweet treats, delicious cider, and much more. We hope to see all of you ghosts and goblins, princes and princesses, and superheroes and heroines!
