The Lebanon Downtown Association presents the First Fridays on Main. June 1st will be our 2nd annual wine and art walk. Select businesses will be open from 6pm-9pm (look for signs in the windows leading up to the event). They will be holding sidewalk sales and there will be vendors throughout downtown as well as food vendors in the Grant Street parking lot. There will be live music in Strawberry Plaza as well as Fate 55 will be playing at Big Foot Bites.

Have you ever wondered what a parade looks like from the inside out? Here is your chance to find out! You are invited to walk and roll with us as we participate in the Strawberry Festival Parade on Saturday June 2. Walk down Main Street with Build Lebanon Trails in the STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL GRAND PARADE! Show your love for Lebanon’s trails and walk, jog, skip, or roll through town with us in the parade! Bring the family! Strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters welcome. Meet fellow trail lovers. You can help us wave and hand out event cards to the people lining the streets. As one of our annual parade marchers says, “It’s a great chance to see the face of Lebanon.” Special notes: Wear your BLT or other blue t-shirt. No dogs allowed in the parade. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen recommended. Where to meet: Lebanon Walmart Supercenter 3290 S Santiam Hwy Lebanon, OR 97355 Meet at the parade staging area in the Walmart parking lot at 10:00am. Look for the BLT banner. Parade starts at 11:00am.

Businesses of the Lebanon community have joined forces to bring people together through live music! Every Saturday night, from six to ten P.M., there will be live music in downtown’s Strawberry Plaza. There will be no entrance fee or cover charge, and no age requirement; everyone is welcome! There will be food and beverages available for purchase at each Saturday concert. We also want to see the people of Lebanon enjoying Strawberry Plaza. The city put a lot of money, time, and effort into creating a beautiful gathering place, and we want to see it busy and full of life all the time!

“Christians in the Workplace” will be the theme of a community-wide worship service to be held at the conclusion of the Strawberry Festival at the River Center (3000 S. Santiam Hwy., Lebanon) June 3 at 6 p.m. Included in the service will be worship in song, a short Bible teaching and a panel discussion with local business leaders on the implications of a person’s Christian faith on their work. Everyone is welcome to attend this event which is sponsored by Transform Lebanon, a network of pastors and leaders of Christian non-profit ministries.

The Santiam District is excited to announce that they are hosting the Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs Convention 2018 from June 10th. thru the 13th. at the best Western Premier Boulder Falls Inn in Lebanon. On the evening of Tuesday, June 5th., at 5:30 we are honored to announce, internationally known landscape designer Hoichi Kurisu will be our keynote speaker. Mr Kurisu specializes in designing award winning Japanese Gardens all over the world. www.Kurisu.com Local gardens designed by Hoichi are The Healing Garden at Lebanon Samaritan Hospital, the Japanese Garden at Boulder Falls Event Center, the Gardens at the entrance to Samaritan Health Campus and Talking Water Gardens in Albany. In his book, “Visionary Landscapes”, Kendall H. Brown included the Gardens on the Samaritan Health Campuses in a section featuring Hoichi, who Brown refers to as a landscape artist. The cost of the tickets are $75 and includes a delicious banquet at the award winning Boulder Falls Event Center with the Hoichi designed one acre Japanese Garden and Koi Pond as the backdrop. Costco of Albany is hosting an appreciation night for our local first responders. All veterans, military, police, fire/rescue and the medical community are welcome to our free Heroes Night event on June 23rd from 6:30-8:30. Also, heroes supporting staff and all family members are welcome to join in on the fun. We will be serving food, raffling off Costco items and Costco memberships. We will have a number of activities and crafts for kids, including face painting and balloon animals by Mr Twisty. After hours shopping at Costco will also be available to all participants.
